Nesse caso, "sair de casa" means "leave home." If you say "sair da casa" it would be "leave the house", so it would imply you are talking about a specific house, that the listeners also know about.

In the dialogue, she says "sai de casa atrasado" but "casa" is feminine. Why do you not sai "sai DA casa atrasado"?
