Olá, Nina!

Actually, in Portuguese we can use both options.

Formally, according to the grammar we must say "a um filme", but the vast majority of Brazilians usually say "assistir um filme", so the second option is also accepted.

Keep sharing with us

Sincerely

Marcia

I think there is a missing "a" here : Nós vamos assistir um filme.

It should be assistir a um filme right?

Hi Jaimie,

Thanks for posting!

Just a few notes:

"Eu tenho um aluno brasileiro que mora lá."

I have a Brazilian student that lives there.

And a small typo:

We use "cidade" (city).👍

In case of any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Eu gostaria de conhecer Florianópolis. Eu tenho um aluno brasileiro quem mora lá. Ele disse que é uma ciudade linda.

Olá 6 7/8,

Thank you for posting.

In the dialogue, the speakers intend to go to the beach. One of them comments that in Cuiabá (a city in Brazil) there aren't any beaches, therefore she mentioned that for that reason she doesn't want to go back home (referring to Cuiabá).

Hope this helps! Feel free to let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Cristiane

"voltar para casa" doesn't make sense as "go back home". Why don't the speakers say "voltar para lá"? How can "casa" refer to "there/the beach"?

Oi Rommel,

You're right. It should be "para casa" instead of "para lá" in the Dialog of the conversation.

Our team has already fixed it. Thanks for letting us know the issue!
