Mal means “bad” |
não muito bem |
não muito bem means “not so good” |
Feliz |
Feliz means "happy" |

Triste means “sad” |

ótimo is the masculine form and ótima is the feminine form for “great” |

cansado is for masculine and cansada is the feminine form |

Another very common way to say "how are you?" in Brazil is - tudo bem? |
Tudo bem? is more casual, and you can take it as a rhetorical question. |
So if someon asks you, tudo bem? You usually answer tudo bem. |
Tudo bem literally means “all good” so if someon asks you, tudo bem? “All good?”, and you answer tudo bem, “all good.” |
If you ask Como você está?, you're really interested to know how that person is doing. |
