Olรก Richard,

Thank you for posting.

You can consider "fazer uma pergunta" ("to make a question") a set phrase. The verb "fazer" by itself has the meaning of "to do, make, create" (it can have other meanings as well).

Instead of using the above phrase, you can also say: "perguntar" (to ask/inquire) as in "Posso perguntar?" / "May I ask?"

"pedir" (to ask/ claim/ demand) is used when you wish to request something, for example: "Posso te pedir um favor?" (Can I ask you a favour?

In case of any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Sincerely,

Cristiane

Oi Larry,

In this case, we don't need to use the reflexive verbs. Reflexive verbs are used when the same person does the action and "receives" the action.

For example, "to cut oneself" = cortar-se

In this case, the boy is just doing the actions.

I hope it helps!

In the expanded vocabulary, it has the sentence O menino acorda e levanta de cama. Should not acorda and levanta be used with the reflexive, se.
