amargo “bitter”
Você gosta de chocolate amargo? Você gosta de chocolate amargo?
Do you like bitter chocolate?
Eu não gosto muito.
I don’t like it very much.
azedo “sour”
Hum... que sopa azeda!
Hum... this soup is so sour!
doce “sweet”
Eu gosto de doce de abóbora.
I like pumpkin sweets.
This is a very typical and very traditional sweet from Brazil. It’s very, very, very sweet, but it’s also very delicious. So, if you have the chance, make sure you try doce de abóbora, pumpkin sweets
picante ”spicy.” I think in the past lesson, I told you about the traditional dish from Bahia called acarajé which is a little bit spicy. So you could make the sentence like -
Tome cuidado! O acarajé é um pouco picante.
Be careful! Acarajé is a little bit spicy.
salgado “salty”
Hum... essa feijoada está um pouco salgada.
This feijoada is a little bit salty.
Yeah be very careful when you make feijoada. It’s very easy to make it too salty. Always check between.
