Eu gosto de roupa casual como jeans e uma camiseta. Às vezes eu gosto de usar um lindo vestido preto e sapatos de salto alto. Eu gosto de ir ao shopping com o meu marido. Ele paga 😜

Oi.

Eu gosto de ficar roupa boa.

I have a question:

In the script it says, "Eu gosto muito dessa loja," for "I really like this store. Later it says "Essa blusa ficaria muito bonito..." for "that blouse..."

Why wouldn't it be, "Eu gosto muito desta loja"? for "I like this store"?

Obrigada,

Kim

Hi Richard,

Thank you for your message.

In this case the verb "ficar" (to stay) is in the conditional tense. Therefore, "ficaria" corresponds to "would stay". However, in the [Dialogue] example, the verb has a meaning related to how the shirt would look / fit in the referred person.

Regarding the demonstrative pronouns, please check out our grammar point at:

https://www.portuguesepod101.com/learningcenter/reference/grammar/14?

You can learn in detail about the use of "este" (this, masculine), "esta" (this, feminine), "aquele" (that, masculine) and "aquela" (that, feminine).

As for "on the right", we use the expression "à direita". Another example "virar à direita" (to turn (to the) right.)

In case of any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

When do I use aquele or aqulea.

I'm confused when to use esta , este

Aqulea and aquele ?

Direto or direta

Esquerda or esquerdo

What is right. The building on the right: aquele predio no direto?

este predio na direta?

Hello Dan,

Thanks for posting.

Indeed "blusa" can be translated as "blouse", however "shirt" is also correct  "camiseta" corresponds to "T-shirt".

Nevertheless, sometimes Brazilian speakers may use the words "blusa" and "camiseta" indistinctly

I think "blusa" would translate better as "blouse"..not as "shirt"/"camiseta".

Oi Makiko,

Uau! Além disso é sempre fácil de achar promoções na internet, verdade?

Mas eu ainda tenho um pouco de medo da roupa ficar muito grande ou pequena, pois é mais difícil de devolver.

Só lembre-se que a palavra "internet" se escreve igual em português e inglês. A única coisa que muda é a pronúncia (que seria mais ou menos "internechi".

Espero que ajude!

Recentemente, eu faço as compras no Internete.

Eu sou japonesa e moro nos Estados Unidos. É muito dificíl a procurar roupas no meu tamanho. No Internete, tem mais seleção.
