Hi Christine,

In the Portuguese Grammar Bank:

https://www.portuguesepod101.com/portuguese-grammar/

You can use the [Grammar Bank Search] and directly select the [Category], for example. There are many options: adjectives, articles, nouns, etc. When you select any option, the related lessons will be shown in the lower area of the page. To open them, click on the desired search result. For example, after selecting [adjectives], the topic [Possessive Adjectives] is shown. Click on it and you'll be directed to the page:

https://www.portuguesepod101.com/learningcenter/reference/grammar/10?

You can also use the [Lesson Grammar Points Search] and type a keyword in the search box.

Hope this helps!

Sincerely,

Cristiane

I tried to open the grammar bank, but I don't know how to use it. For example, when I type in options for the Grammar bank Search, it brings me nowhere.

Hi Zhuldyzay,

In "É por quilo?" ("Is it by kilo?") the speaker is inquiring if the self-service restaurant charges "by kilo", that is: in this type of restaurant we select the food we want and our plate is weighted at the end, so that we only pay for the amount of food we took.

In "Aí já não sei" ("That I don't know") the speaker meant "I don't know that" or "In that case, I don't know". We use a lot of "aí" in casual conversations and as you study the lessons, you'll be able to get used to some set phrases.

"mesmo" was used to reinforce the idea, such as when we use "really", or "very". 👍

Olá Alkan,

Thank you for posting.

You can also use this rule for most first, second and third conjugation verbs (- AR, - ER, - IR). For example,

"ganhar" (to win)

+ ei + emos

ganharei

ganharemos

+ á + ão

ganhará

ganharão

"seguir" (to follow)

+ ei + emos

seguirei

seguiremos

+ á + ão

seguirá

seguirão

Can we use the "one word future" to any type of verb (er, ar, ir)?

Oi Makiko,

Que pena. Nós chamamos esse tipo de restaurante de "rodízio". Seria então um "rodízio de comida japonesa".

No Brasil, nós temps alguns pratos japoneses um pouco abrasileirados também.

Por exemplo, eu adoro o makisushi com manga ou morango! Você já experimentou?
