Oi Phil

Obrigada pelo comentรกrio!

We're glad to know that you're enjoying our site

As for the interview, you'll surely be able to understand it soon, just keep practicing!

I've listened to "Eponina", that's very nice. I guess it's not very similar to Sepultura though. :flushed:

And bossa nova, is and always will be bossa nova. I also really enjoy listening to it.

Hi Paloma

I have actually encountered Sepultura they're not bad :)

On a completely different note my favourite Brazilian music is the work of late 19th/early 20th century classical pianist/composer Ernesto Nazareth, if you're not familiar with his work check out the track "Eponina" - its sublime! There was a documentary about him on STV for the 150 anniversary of his birth its on youtube, I tried watching but didn't get very far in understanding what was being said :(

I've listened to a little Alberto Nepomuceno though not quite so much...

I love bossa nova though - I dabble a bit in it on the guitar, is such a relaxed form of jazz!

I'll be sure to check the films you recommend out as well.

Thanks again for the lessons they are fantastic.

For heavy-metal fans, there's also the internationally famous Sepultura band, though they sing in English.

There are the popular Brazilian movies as well, the Tropa de Elite ("The Elite Squad"), from 2007 or Cidade de Deus ("City of God"), that were famous worldwide. They are pretty good, talking about violence in Brazil.

Have you ever watched them?
