Eric: Welcome to 3-Minute Portuguese Season 1, Lesson 5 - Apologizing. In this lesson, you’ll learn how to apologize and say that you didn't do something on purpose, in Portuguese.

Eric: Here's one way to say 'Excuse me.' in Portuguese.
Ana: [Normal] Com licença.
Eric: First is a word meaning 'with'
Ana: [Normal] com [Slow] com
Eric: Last is the word meaning 'excuse'
Ana: [Normal] licença [Slow] licença
Eric: Listen again to the phrase meaning 'Excuse me.'
Ana: [Slow] Com licença. [Normal] Com licença.
Eric: This is used to ask permission to enter a room, or when you want to get through a crowded place.
Eric: Ok, now let's take a look at the other way to say 'Excuse me.'
Ana: [Normal] Desculpe.
Eric: This expression has only one word meaning 'excuse me, apologies.' It’s used to get someone’s attention, or to ask someone for directions.
Ana: [Normal] desculpe [Slow] desculpe
Eric: Listen again to the formal word meaning 'Excuse me.'
Ana: [Slow] Desculpe. [Normal] Desculpe.
Eric: Next up is the way to say 'I didn't mean it.'
Ana: [Normal] Foi sem querer.
Eric: First is a word meaning 'it was'
Ana: [Normal] foi [Slow] foi
Eric: Next is the word meaning 'without'
Ana: [Normal] sem [Slow] sem
Eric: Last is the word meaning 'to want'

In this lesson, sem means without. However, the quiz marks it as wild boar. I have seen several errors like this in the quizzes.
