Cultural Insights
Now, let's take a look at the negative. In Portuguese, "It's not delicious." is Não está deliciosa. Não está deliciosa.
Let's break it down by syllable: Não es-tá de-li-ci-o-sa.
The negation is formed simply by placing the word Não in front of the phrase. So, our next phrase is Não está quente. Não está quente.
Não es-tá quen-te.
And one time fast, Não está quente
Brazilians love praises. When you praise the food prepared by a housewife by saying Está deliciosa, she will be extremely happy because of your compliment. If it wasn't that good, you don't need to say it was delicious. Just thank her for the effort she put into making it.
